Significance of Ugadi Festival
Ugadi is the New Year festival celebrates primarily in Karnataka, Andhra Pradesh, and Telegana. The word "Ugadi" comes from"Yuga"(age) and "Adi" (beginning) meaningthe beginning of a new era. It marks the first day of Chaitra month in the Hindu lunisolor calendar and usually falls in March or April.
